Immigration Term
A non-immigrant visa allows its bearer to apply to enter the United States for a specific purpose and for a set amount of time. After the visa is approved, a stamp is marked on the visa holder’s passport, granting entry into the country. Non-immigrant visas are commonly granted for tourism, education, and employment. Each visa type has different requirements and limitations.
